SAP BW Developer

SAP Sr. BW Developer position.  Potential contract to hire opportunity.

 

? Main focus ? Detailed in-depth technical BW knowledge coupled with solid all round hands-on experience including data extraction and report generation aspects of delivering business solutions in BW.
? Solid SAP development experience utilizing ABAP and ABAP Objects.
? Experience developing Global BW solution from multiple SAP R/3 system with varying designs into a common BW reporting template
? A broad understanding of at least two of the main Financial (FI & CO) and Logistics modules (SD & MM) in core R/3 preferred.

Beneficial: 
? Prior experience of adapting SAP R/3 or BW to a Service sector environment would be definitely advantageous.
? Any project experience dealing with Global Master Data Maintenance requirements

 

BASIC JOB DESCRIPTION:
 Working as BW Developer in the SAP BW team your responsibilities include:
? Will work with key project users to define information required in other SAP R/3 templates and convert them into functional specifications, and determine the required solution in a SAP BW in order to fit into the global reporting template.
? The development of custom solution utilizing SAP development tools, such as ABAP and ABAP Objects.
? The design, configure, implement and support SAP's Business Warehouse solutions, which include the complex extraction, transformation and loading operational setups, create and maintain ODS's and InfoCubes, establish and monitor process chains.
? Liaise with any other COE BW members to maintain and apply coherent, optimised, integrated, and standardised processes
? Liaise with other COE teams to communicate BW aspects, and co-ordinate and optimise cross-module requirements
? Prepare comprehensive documentation required according to methodology for all BW aspects
? Support the entire implementation effort during all project stages, ensuring that in areas of assigned responsibility milestones and related sign-offs are achieved on a timely basis and in accord with current project plan
? Actively promote the global template approach within the organization
? Involvement in SAP demonstrations as required
? Any other duties as directed by the Global BW manager 

 

SPECIFIC SKILLS / EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

 ? Must have a solid knowledge of SAP development technologies and SAP BW
? Completion of a minimum of 2 full lifecycle SAP BW implementations as a member of the BW team.
? Absolute minimum 2 years hands-on SAP ABAP Development experience as ABAP Developer
? Experience developing using ABAP Objects preferred
? Candidates having experience with SAP NETWEAVER technologies utilizing: Business HTML, BSP, JSP, JAVA, XML and JAVA Script is a plus.
? Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
? Global implementation experience, particularly within a SAP COE will be a distinct advantage
? Persuasive and convincing advocate of the necessity for a centrally-owned template approach in a global implementation

? Be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
? Be prepared to travel as required
