SAP Basis Administrator

DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

? Provide SAP basis development Support for R/3, BW, HR, FI.

? Enact transports

? Participate in SAP software upgrades, kernel patch upgrades and new SAP software installations, including versions 6.2-6.4.

? Setup Workplace and ITS environment

? OCR / Taxware installation

? Client and database refreshes.

? Perform SQL Server Database Admin tasks including upgrades/applying patches on a regular basis to the SQL Server Database.

? Management, backup/recovery, database reorganizations and monitoring/administering the growth of the SQL Server database.

? Apply SAP Software Correction Support Packages and apply SAP OSS notes for individual program corrections.

? Monitor the daily performance of the SAP system and develop the skills required to identify and resolve performance issues.

? Monitor SAP systems per SOX compliance rules and log activities relating to those rules. Help with SOX remediation activities.

? Capacity management.

? Work with DR (Disaster Recovery) teams to provide input to the DR processes.

? Schedule, prepare and implement SAP EarlyWatch collection and system modification recommendations, after the EarlyWatch session is completed.

? Performance trace, monitoring, tuning

? Proactive development and maintenance of procedural documents used by the Basis Administration team.

? Work with SAP Basis manager, business, and other team members to help prioritize work and interact with SAP Business Process Owners.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

? More than 5 years IT experience. 3 years SAP Basis Team Member actively supporting an SAP production environment.

? 3 or more years of SQL Server experience, including installation, performance tuning, and maintenance.

? 2 years experience installing SAP and SQL Server.

? Background in BW, FI, HR helpful.

? 2 years experience refreshing SAP clients and databases from existing entities.

? 2 or more years of experience in managing relationships with SAP end users and developers.

? Experience in a global support model.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:

Degree in computer science/engineering.
