Riddell Sports, founded in 1929, is a premier designer, developer, and marketer of helmets and equipment used by professional and amateur athletes in team sports.  Known for inventions that include removable cleats used in football, baseball, and track shoes; the first seamless basketball; and suspension systems for football helmets, Riddell is a household name in competitive sports.  Today, Riddell is the leading provider of football helmets, shoulder pads, reconditioning services (cleaning, repairing, repainting, and recertifying existing equipment) and collectible helmets. 

 

Giro is the youngest member of our business family starting in 1985 by creating the first lightweight adult cycling helmet and exploding into today where Giro helmets are worn by millions of riders, cyclists, skiers and snowboarders around the world.

 

The Challenge

Business growth by acquisition has created a heterogeneous business process and systems environment.  In order to serve our customers with speed, excellence and purpose, we have elected to standardize our business and technical environment through deployment of SAP during the next two years.  To support this major challenge, we are in the process of revitalizing our current Information Technology team through the addition of complementary skilled business and technical professionals.

 

The ideal candidate to support this endeavor will be an experienced SAP Portal technologist with demonstrable experience in architecting, implementing and administering end-to-end Enterprise Portal infrastructure in an SAP landscape. 

The candidate should have the following core experiences in addition to the specifics noted in the job description below:

? Experience working on one or more projects where designing enterprise application architecture was a requirement. Must have hands-on and a full life-cycle implementation SAP EP v6.0 and SAP NetWeaver 2004.

? Five years experience in the field of SAP technologies with three years of architecture, planning and implementation experience in the SAP Enterprise Portal space. Experience to include implementation planning, fit analysis, configuration, testing, rollout and post-implementation support.  Implementation of Supplier Portal is a Plus. 

? Deep understanding of SAP NetWeaver technology framework including Web Application Server (both ABAP & JAVA stack), Business Intelligence, Enterprise Portals and Knowledge Warehouse/Management.

? Experience with Knowledge Management, Content Management, Search & Classification.  Logging & Monitoring beneficial.

? Five years of extensive experience with Project implementation experience that spans the full project life cycle including blueprinting, configuration, testing, training and post implementation support

? Comprehensive understanding of SAP?s Solutions Guides and Tools including the IMG (Implementation Management Guide)

? Project management experience including active preparation and use of Microsoft Project for scheduling and tracking

? Experience using Risk and Issue Management tools

? BS in Engineering, Business, and/or Computer Sciences. Masters degree is preferred.

 

Job Description

Technology lead for design, configuration, and deployment of SAP Portal across the enterprise.   Position will involve working closely with our business community across the Riddell, Giro, and Bell and Easton business units as an internal consultant to drive change from the currently disjointed legacy environment.  Responsibilities include:Gain an understanding the current BRG Sports architecture and define future guidelines for integrating in and around the SAP components. Architect and implement an end-to-end enterprise portal infrastructure with SAP Enterprise Portal 6.0 with all layers of SAP Portal infrastructure to include; portal sizing and administration, security (user administration, authentication, single sign on) and application integration. Propose policies and guidelines for SAP portals in conjunction with commonly adopted Enterprise Web & Portal standards in the consumer goods industry. Design and document future SAP Portal and security administration policies and procedures for the production environment. Develop a global architecture for use of portals across BRG Sports.  Assess the current environment to develop a conversion plan from the current use of portals to SAP portals Responsibility for managing the full project life cycle for modules noted including driving design acceptance through a conference room pilot and UAT Use SAP solution to achieve SOX compliance
