SAS Programmer/Senior Analyst -- Job #10200

Quintiles has an opening in our Kansas City office for a Statistical Programmer, whose primary responsibility will be to provide advanced technical SAS programming expertise to develop and maintain programs to meet internal and external clients' needs. This individual will be responsible for planning and leading the development and implementation of project-related solutions through the full scope of statistical programming tasks.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
-Serve as Programming Lead representing the Statistical Programming function on global project teams.
-Plan and coordinate programming, testing, and documentation of statistical programs for use in creating statistical tables, graphics, and listing summaries.
-Program analysis database manipulations and transfers of data for internal and external clients.
-May integrate databases from multiple studies or sources.
-Develop listing and table specifications.
-Provide advanced technical expertise in conjunction with internal and external clients.
-Independently bring project solutions to project teams and other programming members within the department.
-Develop and maintain good communications and working relationships with teams and external clients.
-May interact with global project team members to negotiate timelines, responsibilities, and deliverables.
-May mentor other team members in departmental procedures and developing technical expertise.
-Understand and comply with Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
-May assist in developing, revising, and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
-Program, test, and document statistical programs and tools in accordance with standards and validation procedures.
-Meet milestones as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field with 4+ years of relevant work experience, or Master's degree with 2+ years of relevant work experience; advanced knowledge of Base SAS?; and excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, and technical database skills. Knowledge of SAS/STAT, SAS Macro language, SAS/SQL, and/or SAS/GRAPH is preferred, as is a solid understanding of clinical drug development.
