POSITION TITLE: SENIOR COURSE DEVELOPER
LOCATION: LAKE FOREST, CA
REPORTS TO: MANAGER, COURSE DEVELOPMENT
Course Developer:
Support our Plant Intelligence Software products by developing performance-based instructor Led and Web Based Training, aimed at increasing our users' knowledge base in three key areas: Benefits, Use, and Functionality.
Summary of Job Responsibilities:
Wonderware's Training and Development Team provides much more than group lectures. Our mission is to support our Plant Intelligence Software products by increasing our users' knowledge base in three key areas: Benefits, Use, and Functionality. To this end, our goal is to design and deliver training that is entirely Performance Based using proven Instructional Design development principles.
You will join a team of expert Course Developers in designing curricula that is aimed at both short- and long-term effectiveness for new software products as well as making revisions to existing courses. The two main areas of development consist of Instructor Led courses and Web Based Training courses where the Course Developer will work with Subject Matter Experts to produce training manuals, as well as online lessons. Course Developers will use development tools such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Macromedia Flash, Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Acrobat, QuestionMark Perception 3, simulation software, among others.
Other responsibilities include writing course descriptions, attending beta runs of new and revised courses, helping to maintain Wonderware?s Web Interactive Training site, acting as peer editor, and assessing and redesigning current courses for increased effectiveness.
The ideal candidate for this position must have strong project management skills, excellent communication skills, the ability to prioritize and the ability to multi-task.
Position Overview:
?Work closely with Subject Matter Experts to develop technical training courses that are educational, enjoyable, and effective for all customers.
?Develop, revise, and validate technical Instructor Led courses, including labs, instructional text, technical reference information, presentations, etc.
?Attend the "beta" run of each course to ensure quality and implement necessary changes to curriculum and training manuals.
?Develop and revise technical Web Based Training that is highly interactive and informative.
Summary of Job Requirements:
?Three plus years experience with Instructional Systems Design
?Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Technology or related field
?Experience developing Software Training
?Demonstrated Course Design capabilities
?Demonstrated Writing and Documentation skills
?Advanced use of Microsoft Windows OS, Word and PowerPoint
?Experience developing Computer Based or Web Based Training for software applications
?Experience using all or some of the following authoring tools: Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Acrobat, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Macromedia Flash, RoboDemo (or other simulation software), QuestionMark Perception 3.
?Demonstrated experience with Performance Based training
PREFERRED:
?Master's Degree in Instructional Technology or Learning-Based field
?Experience with Internet Based Distance Learning deployment
?Experience with Instructional Design software
