SQL Database Administrator

Seeking an experienced SQL Server Database administrator to manage and fine-tune our MS SQL Server databases. The DBA will also be involved in database design and development including creation/maintenance of stored procedures, triggers, and user-defined functions, etc.  Some applications development will also be required. This position will manage multiple databases on multiple servers including clustered and stand-alone instances of MS SQL.  In addition, the position will perform server administration services, including security access for databases, applications and various server-based services.

 

Responsibilities:

 Create robust and efficient database designs and physical data models. Load, unload and migrate databases and tables as appropriate. Maintain databases in production and test. ? Maintain database backup and recovery procedures. Update/modify database tables and designs as appropriate. Document database structures, schemas and entity-relationship diagrams. Document process and procedures required to support the environment. Create entity relationship diagrams, document schemas and logical data models. Provide coaching and consultation to development team regarding data-related aspects of application design. Troubleshoot database problems and identify and correct database inefficiencies Provide security administration of databases and servers. Interact with clients to resolve customer problems. Develop SQL Reports as required ? Provide status updates to team leader(s). Provide input into product design.

Qualifications :
The qualified candidate will have a minimum of five years experience developing and supporting production level SQL Server databases, at least three of these years serving in the formal capacity of a SQL Server Database Administrator. Formal experience with network and data security. Experience optimizing database performance and resource utilization. Experience developing complex stored procedures, DTS packages, etc. Experience/familiarity with Microsoft Clustering Services in Windows Server 2003. Knowledge of Crystal Reports. Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science, MIS or relevant field preferred. MS SQL Server Certification is highly desired.
