SQL SERVER DATABASE ARCHITECT (2 LOCATIONS)

Reports to:

Software Development ManagerDescription:

This position combines the skills of a database administrator, analyst, and software developer. Works to support application development team with database design, implementation, and optimization .  Will lead the planning and execution of the conversion of an existing Microsoft Access database to SQL Server 2000/SQL 2005 within a SEI-CMM Level 3 development environment.  This conversion must also include a stand-alone version using SQL Server Express. Responsible for analyzing and tuning queries and indices for high performance.
 
Education:

BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical discipline.
  Requirements:

3-5 years database administration and structure development.  Candidate must be well rounded in Microsoft methodologies, tools, and languages.  Strong knowledge of SQL Server 2000, complex queries, stored procedure, triggers, DTS, and other ETL methodologies is required.  Prior experience with .NET and applications is preferred.  Prior experience with general Windows 2000 and 2003 server administration and windows scripting is preferred.  Microsoft certifications in systems and database administration are preferred.  Candidates must be effective team communicators (verbal and written skills are important) and also possess good problem-solving skills.
