This is a senior database developer position to develop data warehouse and reporting applications for the Enterprise Services business within Microsoft. We are seeking a Sr. level database developer with good knowledge on SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services (OLAP), Reporting Services and/or Integration Services.
Core Job Responsibilities:
? Responsible for designing and developing subsystems on major business systems under deadline pressure with minimum supervision.
? Responsible for successful completion of code deliverables within projects.
? Responsible for ensuring that code meets specifications.
? Responsible for writing code that is efficient and easily maintainable.
? Responsible for unit testing and debugging own code.
? Responsible for taking full advantage of Microsoft toolsets.
? Responsible for becoming proficient in our specific systems or subsystems.
? Responsible for communicating and defending design, requirements, feature set, functionality and limitations of subsystem to team members and development lead.
? Create logical data and physical models based upon functional specifications of business requirements as provided by the Analysts and other members of the project team.
? Contribute to the design and development of normalized, subject-oriented databases that are capable of consolidating data from heterogeneous systems worldwide.
? Design and develop databases optimized for reporting.
? Design and develop data manipulation processes using best-practices SQL coding techniques which are performance optimized.
? Designated reporting contacts within the ES/IT business may occur and typically during status meetings.
Requirements:
? Degree in Computer Science or related field. Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
? Data warehousing experience
? Experience in building both operational reporting and analytical solutions
? Experience in data analysis, data modeling tools and/or design methodologies
? Design and administration experience with relational databases, good knowledge of SQL 2005 is a big plus
? Experience with SQL programming, using SQL 2005 tools like Management Studio, Analysis Services, Integration Services, or Reporting Services
? Experience with physical implementation of complex logical database designs, experience with building dimensional data models and analysis services

 

JD611:

 

As a successful candidate you will: Have a strong and demonstrable skill in SQL Server, Replication, DTS, Performance tuning.
Have a strong and demonstrable C# and .Net framework experience.
Experience on Cryptography, License management is an advantage.
Strong problem solving and communication skills.
Past experience of highly available server system is desirable.
Minimum of 7-9 years experience in Software industry.
