SR. FIELD SUPPORT ENGINEER, Traffic Generation, Test Applications, & TCL/TK

Location: Santa Clara, California

To provide telephone and on-site support, assisting customers with operation and configuration of Ixia hardware and software.

Responsibilities:

Specific duties include but are not limited to the following during site visits. Investigate reported product failure, and take actions to resolve. Assist customers with upgrade of hardware or software. Help customers with Ixia Equipment configuration. Assistance for Scripting Automation, Clix, HLTAPI Provide training on Ixia Product operation, one-on-one or in small groups. Local office maintenance of loaner equipment directly associated with their site visits Local office maintenance of loaner, demo, or eval equipment for the Sales force Local office "quality time" for new product familiarization and technology study RMA logistics support to key customers. Shipping and receiving of RMA units

Requirements: Experience with Ethernet, IP, TCP/IP, and Routing Protocols such as OSPF and BGP Experience with PC platform hardware assembly and troubleshooting Experience with Microsoft Windows 2000/XP installation and troubleshooting Experience with layer 2 switch, layer 3 switch, and router configuration and setup Experience with networking cabling methodologies, both copper and fiber 90%Local travel required, personal transportation is essential
