SW Engineer SAN Protocols

Summary:  This position is a technical lead for SAN protocol development.  The Software Engineer – SAN Protocols is responsible for the design, develop, debug and support SAN software elements of Data ONTAP. The individual will work closely with other members of the SAN development, SAN QA and SAN interoperability teams.  Responsibilities include:


 


·  Investigating and shaping requirements working with other members of the SAN engineering team and Product Management. 


·  Developing comprehensive, well written functional and design specifications. 


·  High level design, detailed design, implementation and development testing of new SAN functionality within the ONTAP product line.


·  Work with customer support to resolve customer satisfaction issues. 


 


Qualifications (Required):


 


· BSCS/CE or related degree; MSCS/CE preferred.


· 8+ years of software development experience.


· Past experience as technical lead.


· Strong background with storage and systems software required. 


· Excellent C programming skills.


· Device driver development experience.


· Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills.


· Strong engineering development process skills required.  


· Ability to work independently.  


· Ability to collaborate in a team environment.


· Expertise in the following areas: 


o  UNIX or Linux based OS systems software development experience


o  SAN Protocols (FCP, iSCSI, SCSI) experience.
