Security Engineer / Developer

Applicants for this position must have strong technology skills. The Engineer/Developer (Security) participates in Directory and application security issues across multiple applications, using multiple Directory platforms (Microsoft AD, SunOne LDAP), in an enterprise of distributed and local systems. This position analyzes business requests, makes recommendations, and participates in the definition, development and implementation of IT projects to meet current and long-range goals. The Engineer/Developer will use scripting tools to enhance and extend existing security utilities and will work with various application teams to help explain and audit roles-based application access. As an industry knowledgeable user, this person educates and interacts with various technical teams to facilitate issue resolution and security awareness. The Engineer/Developer ensures that all aspects of the Longs application environment meet security best practices and compliance requirements. This position serves as a technical resource to the rest of the team and develops administrative documentation. An immediate challenge and opportunity for this position is in hardening and auditing of the company's Directory platforms and internal tools maintenance and enhancement.

Qualifications & Requirements

BS or higher degree in CS, MIS, or related field or a minimum of 2 years as a Directory Analyst or a Software Engineer.

Critically important to have strong scripting skills, preferably in Perl.

This position will help us secure and manage our Directory and our applications while minimizing disruption as much as possible.

Requires project management skills and a thorough understanding of Roles-based Access Controls and application services.

Experience with 2-factor authentication, client/server applications running on Windows and Unix servers, local and distributed application and user support, and scripting to automate interactive functions will also be essential.

Second level support for our vulnerability monitoring, alerting, and filtering tools.
