Webroot is widely recognized for setting the technology standard by focusing on research and development. Our highly regarded R&D organization is expanding operations.  In light of this expansion, Webroot?s Anti-Spyware Team needs an analyst to research spyware / malware threats and create software to detect and remove these programs from infected machines. This position involves extensive use of Windows utilities and programs that identify system processes and network traffic. The position requires you to be an expert in all Windows operating systems and have a strong bent towards PC security and privacy. This position will be located at our newly opened Technology Center in Mountain View, CA.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 Conduct research to discover spyware/malware, creating tools and algorithms to detect and identify installed malicious software Identify new distribution methods and techniques for removalAnalyze information and develop methods of detection and removal of spywarePrioritize and switch among several projects simultaneously while quickly learning a breadth of new concepts and technologies

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

 2+ years experience in IT, development experience is preferredBachelor's Degree or equivalent experience is required

 

Windows-specific knowledge is a MUST, including:Understanding of Windows file/folder structures and file access methodsAbility to perform in-depth searches for keywords within the registry and files/folders Knowledge of Windows Security features
