Senior Developer

This is a contract position that is scheduled to run for 4+ months.

A senior-level professional position requiring a thorough understanding of, and demonstrated experience using, leading-edge web technologies to support large- scale eCommerce applications. Our Online?s web properties are increasingly based upon platforms and applications from ATG. As such, the ideal candidate will have current and relevant experience with the ATG product suite. Familiarity with profile management and segmentation, content targeting, personalization, and search and self service is a plus. Practical use and knowledge of JSP development also a plus. As a senior developer with us, the candidate will be expected to take the lead on discrete development projects, provide direction and mentoring to junior developers, develop accurate level-of-effort estimates, and manage task schedules. The candidate will work closely with the architecture team to maintain design and process integrity across the enterprise. Individual should have excellent communication skills that can be used to effectively communicate technical concepts to business customers, as well as serve as a leader to less experienced developers on the team. The individual must be able to understand business customer requirements from the perspective of its impact to the success of the business and be able to translate them to a technical implementation. The individual must be able to perform as a leader on the team and earn the respect of the rest of the team as such. The individual must be able to interact well with other technical team leaders such as architects, testing, analysts, and release managers as a lead member of the development team in order to accomplish the business goal. The individual must be motivated and a self-starter that is able to cope well with uncertainty and change.

Qualifications:   

Need a real senior person. Able to lead design and direct the efforts of others. ?Large project experience ?Strong server-side Java programming experience and an understanding of Java programming best practices ?Familiarity with front-end user interfaces and JSP programming techniques ?SQL experience and knowledge of Oracle databases and database integration ?Proven ability to design, develop, unit test, and debug efficient, maintainable code in short time frames ?Proficiency in troubleshooting and detail-oriented problem diagnosis ?Experience working with cross-functional business and development teams in a fast-paced, agile software development environment ?Strong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to assist in defining functional requirements ?Strong communication skills; ability to discuss and explain technical concepts to business customers and end users ?Self motivation and high energy.
