Senior Engineer (Java/Wireless)

PROFILE:

You must have extensive experience developing Java applications.  Strong software design and programming background is required.  You must enjoy solving difficult problems and take pride in producing production quality software.  It is highly desirable that you be well versed in developing applications for the mobile space, especially intimate knowledge of Java3D, JSR184, BREW, and/or Symbian.  You will work with a highly motivated and experienced team in a Silicon Valley mobile startup working on today's and next-generation 3D graphics applications. Experience with C/C++ a plus.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

You will be responsible for developing a Java port of the Emdigo platform and developing new application features for Emdigo?s world-class 3D application engine for wireless. You will be asked to find innovative ways to use the Java platform to deliver a top-notch experience across a wide range of handsets.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelors Degree in relevant discipline(s) (CS, EE, Math).  Advanced degrees helpful.Strong Java and Mobile experience4+ years of experience in a programming roleExperience with video game or related production pipeline/engine technology is a plusStrong programming skills. C++/C knowledge is a plusMust be open, enthusiastic, and good at interacting with artists, tools engineers, and application programmers.Must be willing to take full ownership of each task assignmentMust be able to creatively solve problems and interact over schedules/features/resource costsShould be willing to take ownership of project deliverables such that they meet company objectives and are delivered on schedule.Demonstrated ability to analyze, diagnose, and resolve problems.Ability to work independently and prioritize work assignments
