Job Summary:
As a member of a team, leads, plans and executes verification of firmware and embedded software developed for Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) devices.

Job Duties:
Help to define the verification/validation processes for research and clinical software projects and apply those processes.

Writes, reviews and executes ICD firmware verification test scripts and programs.

Troubleshoots, debugs and maintains test cases, procedures and scripts.

Enters bug reports into bug tracking database.

Accountability:
With close supervision, performs relatively complex verification processes to identify bugs and functional problems in ICD Embedded software. Must be highly independent, and understand both the software development and verification processes.

Internal and External Relationships:
Interacts with peers and with members of Software Development, Tools Development and Clinical Engineering to facilitate verification of ICD Embedded software.
Takes direction from and presents progress reports to Project Leader.

Job Requirements:
 5+ years experience in test and firmware.  Masters degree strongly desired. College level coursework and work experience with assembly language, C and/or C++, embedded real-time systems, and object-oriented analysis techniques; working knowledge of structured software development and software documentation methods and purposes; superior analysis and problem solving skills; hands-on experience with logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other lab bench test equipment; and effective business communication ability. Lead experience in a verification setting is desired.
