Senior GUI Engineer

Description:
As a senior GUI engineer in Avaya's Assured Networks Group, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, integration and maintenance of software modules to support the Application Assurance Networking product line.

You will assist in the design and implementation of new user interface features for commercial application with emphasis on user interaction, visualization of dynamic data, tabular and graphical report, and network topology. You will interact with other groups including Sales, Support, and Product Marketing to understand requirements and features. You will need to collaborate with both local and remote developers in the team and the ability to brainstorm and express ideas clearly will be expected. You should have a strong background in Object-Oriented programming principles, experience implementing user interfaces with Java/Swing, and a strong understanding of multi-threaded programming. Knowledge of C++ and past experience developing a user interface for a networking application is a plus.

Qualifications:
Qualifications
o BS or MS in CS or EE with 5 - 7 years of experience required
o Strong object-oriented, multi-threaded programming background
o Experience with Java and a thorough understanding of the Swing toolkit
o Experience developing a commercial quality user interface
o Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
o Ability to understand and grasp new concepts and technologies quickly
o Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks independently
o Excellent oral and written communication skills
