Senior HP Openview Administrator

CTG is looking for a Senior HP Openview Administrator for a client located in The Woodlands area.  The following position description is for long term W2 contract position with an intial term of 12 months. 

Position Purpose:

Responsible for implementing and administering a highly effective corporate wide network management system.  Communicates with all relevant groups to ensure the system is monitoring and alerting as designed.  Works well with peers and is open to sharing ideas and knowledge.

 

Experience:
At least 4 years progressive experience implementing and managing an enterprise wide HP Openview based network management infrastructure.
In-depth knowledge of HP network management suite of products is mandatory. Must be able to immediately assume operational and administrative responsibilities. 
Must be able to implement product configuration changes, apply product patches and updates, install monitoring agents, integrate existing and new point solutions, and all other day-to-day administrative duties. 
Experience integrating network management systems with other tools, such as trouble ticket systems and AlarmPoint notification system, is highly desirable.
Candidate must have in-depth experience with Unix, Linux and Windows operating systems. 
Scripting experience (PERL, Shell, VB, etc) is highly desirable.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills and have exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

 

Required Education:

 

Bachelor?s (Management Information or Computer Science) degree or equivalent work experience.
