Our Senior Infrastructure Database Administrator will work as part of a team that provides 24x7 support of all technical aspects MS SQL Server in a 300+ server enterprise environment.

 

The production environment is distributed database system, consisting of databases ranging in size from small-medium to VLDBs (>300 gig).

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

?  Automation of MS SQL Server maintenance and alerting.

?  Implement and maintain database security.

?  Monitor failed and long running MS SQL Server jobs.

?  Monitor, tune, and analyze database performance and allocate  resources to achieve desired database performance.

?  Implementation and maintenance of  SQL Server Transactional Replication. 

?  Documentation of MS SQL Server system environment, setup, maintenance and standards, including ER diagrams, and transactional flows.

?  Capacity planning of OLTP systems.

?  Work closely with development, network, and quality assurance teams to meet project goals and deliverables.

 

Required Qualifications:

?  Bachelors in Computer Science or similar Degree; can substitute 4-6 years of experience in the IT field.

?  Hands on experience with SQL Enterprise Manager, Query Analyzer, Profiler, Data  Transformation Services.

?  Strong experience in database disaster recovery, clustering, and replication.

?  Strong SQL programming skills including, developing & testing T-SQL stored procedures, queries., and triggers.

?  Strong understanding of relational database modeling and design.

?  Experience in tuning and analyzing SQL Server databases for performance.

?  Performance monitoring experience using Windows Performance Monitor and MS SQL Server Profiler.

?  Candidates must have excellent inter-personal skills.

?  Must have previous experience in MS SQL cluster environments.

?  Knowledge of Dimensional analysis and OLAP services in a data warehousing environment is a plus.

?  Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team.

?  Ability and desire to learn and grow.

?  Good problem solving and documentation skills.
