We are looking for a Senior Java Developer to work at our customer site with the US Department of Agriculture (USDA). This individual will be part of an established and respected team of developers and IT Architects designing and implementing solutions for the Federal Government. The USDA was created in 1862 by Abraham Lincoln and leads the Federal anti-hunger effort, stewardship over 192M acres, largest conservation agency, research leader in nutrition and crops, responsible for safety of food and ensures open markets for US products.


Software Development Requirements:
Full and complete understanding of J2EE
Able to independently develop requirements
Comfortable with complex Web deployments (e.g. EAR Files)
Certified JAVA developer or equivalent

Design Experience:
Expert in UML
Ability to create development design from architecture design

Implementation Experience:
Ability to manage 1-2 Jr Java programmers
Demonstrated high productivity with all assigned technical areas
Self Manage Delivery Schedules

Process Experience:
Approves processes
Integrates CMM thinking and requirements into all work products
Pro-Active Planning

Documentation Experience:
Ability to review, critique, and improve documentation
Ability to design detailed documentation requirements
Ability to determine contingency and mitigation requirements
