The Sr. Database Administrator (Sr. DBA) is responsible for the integrity of the company's data. This individual is responsible for creation, rotation, integrity of related data file backups based on the business needs by having through knowledge of the database software recovery mechanisms. The DBA should maintain user connectivity and meanwhile provide security to protect company's data. The DBA should be able to assist with identifying performance bottlenecks (OS, Network, Database), tuning of Both SQL statements and tuning of the RDBMS software, and have the knowledge to recommend optimal Performance recommendations.

Qualifications:
Must posses at least a Bachelor of Science Degree in computer Sciences or related engineering fields.

Minimum of 10 years of experience, most of which in a high volume production environment.

Good understanding of the RDBMS, related utilities and tool.

Having Oracle Database Administration skill will be a plus.

Installation, configuration and upgrading of MS SQL Server RDBMS server software and related products. Establish and Maintain sound backup and recovery policies.

Implement and maintain database security. Set up and maintain documentation and standards.

Work as part of team and provide 24x7 support when required (mobile broadband will be provided for your convenience when you are on call)

Perform general technical troubleshooting and give consultation to development teams.

Evaluate RDBMS features and related products.

Perform database tuning and performance monitoring.

Understand and maintain MS SQL features and products with expertise on at least four of the following; (Replication, SQL Clustering, Stand by server, DTS, Log shipping, SQL Mail).

Interface with Vendor for technical support.

Take care of Database Design and Implementation.

Mentoring staff members with on going training. And co-workers.

Experience in code migration, database change management and data management through the various stages of the development cycle.

 Provide a strategic database direction for the organization.

 Be able to handle multiple projects deadlines.

A good knowledge of the physical database design. Sound knowledge of the implemented application systems. Ability to perform code review and code acceptance prior to any release into production.

 Evaluate RDBMS features and related products. Fluent in writing database maintenance scripts, TSQL statements and Stored Procedures.

Good understanding of the RDBMS and related utilities and tools.

A good understanding of the underlying operating system.
