Senior Network Architect and Network Engineer

Job Description:
This position is responsible for the planning, design, implementation and second level support of production LAN/WAN in the areas of Internet Connectivity, Capacity Planning, Routing, Switching, Server Load Balancing, Network Security, and Wireless.

Provide highly skilled technical assistance in completing complex network planning, capacity planning, engineering, and architecture for the Operations datacenter network. Perform complex design, research and development of networks including routers, switching, site-to-site connectivity, remote access, server load balancing, wireless and Internet/Intranet access. Lead the network security architecture and deployment activities and manage daily network engineering issues.

Recommend Network modifications to configurations resulting in reduced costs or improved service. Provide high-level support and rapid resolution to network problems. Ability to use and decode traces from SNIFFER and other packet analyzers. Must have strong project management skills to see projects through from concept, planning, implementation, and to successful maintenance mode.

Requirements:

BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience

Five or more years of experience with planning, designing, implementation and support of a large scale networks

Experience with an ASP environment and security is highly desirable

In-depth and hands on experience with Cisco routers and switches, Content Switches/Server Load Balancers, IDS, and firewalls

Experience with high capacity Firewalls - Cisco PIX, Netscreen, etc.

Experience with F5 BigIP Server Load Balancers a bonus

Strong knowledge of Layer 2/LAN/WAN protocols including IP, EIGRP, OSPF, T1, DS3, Frame Relay, ATM, VLANs, ACLs, STP

Strong knowledge of Unix Operating Systems is a major bonus

Excellent problem solving skills

Exceptional communication skills

Ability to work either independently or as part of a group as necessary for the assigned task

Experience:

5-15 years of experience

Helpful Skills:

CCDP, CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, F5 Server Load Balancers, Netscreen Firewalls, Wireless Security
