Senior Networking Software Engineer

Job summary: SynapSense Corporation is seeking to hire a senior networking software engineer who will be responsible for the design and implementation of a networking stack for wireless sensor networks (WSN). The individual will have a major impact on the architecture of the network stack and the development of network management features. The candidate will be a key stakeholder in determining overall networking and middleware strategy for SynapSense products and will provide overall and end to end technical leadership, mentoring and evangelization.  The candidate will work closely with system and network architects, hardware engineers and software engineers reliable. Essential duties and responsibilities include:

? WSN architecture and design

? Wireless sensor MAC and networking protocol algorithms design and implementation, simulation, and performance analysis

? WSN stack design and implementation

? Software development and testing on WSN platforms

 

Job qualification: The candidate should be a proven networking engineer who has in-depth knowledge of network stacks for wired and wireless networks. The candidate should have a solid understanding of network protocols, and should be able to design and build ad hoc and mesh networking protocols. Experience with wireless radios, MAC (such as 802.11 and 802.15), and networking protocols is required.  Familiarity with the Zigbee standard is a plus.

Education:  M.S. or higher preferred. BS is acceptable with significant industry experience.
