Senior Performance Test Engineer

 MedQuist is the leading provider of information management solutions to the healthcare community.  We currently have openings for forward-thinking, team-oriented Performance Test Engineers eager to participate in producing highly-scalable and highly-available Enterprise-grade healthcare technology solutions.  Candidates must be creative, highly self-motivated, responsible, and have a passion for uncovering performance problems.

 

Responsibilities:

 Analyze product requirements for performance implicationsProvide leadership for and design and document test strategies and test cases using standard quality practicesDesign, develop, maintain, and execute test scripts and scenarios using Mercury LoadRunner VuGen and Controller, utilizing industry-standard coding best practicesAnalyze test results and prepare reports using LoadRunner AnalyzeRecommend to Development areas for investigationWork closely with Development to isolate, correct, and verify bottlenecksDesign, develop and maintain test tools and automated processesCooperate with teammates and other teams on large testing efforts.Seek out resources to accomplish objectivesAccurately estimate effort required so as to meet project datesProvide regular updates to manager/lead and team mates

 

Qualifications:

 Fluent in and 4+ years experience in Mercury LoadRunner: VuGen, Analysis, and Controller4+ years experience performance/load/stress testingFluent in and 2+ years experience coding in one or more of the following: C/C++, Java, Visual Basic, Visual C++ (C/C++ or Java strongly preferred)2+ years experience in quality assurance testing, including designing, writing, and executing test casesExperience in performance testing multi-tier Web applications (J2EE knowledge a plus)4+ years experience in a commercial software development environmentStrong knowledge of performance testing concepts and methodologiesStrong knowledge of SQL and one or more of these SQL databases: Oracle, SQL Server, mySQL (SQL Server or Oracle strongly preferred)Strong knowledge of object-oriented design and analysis techniquesDriven to excel

 

Education:

 Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
