Senior Perl Engineer

This position is based in Cambridge, MA next to Kendall Square / MIT.

Smartleaf is looking for a senior Perl engineer to build new functions and systems for our high-end wealth management application. This is a key developer role reporting directly to the head of engineering.

The ideal candidate has planned and built significant applications in Perl.

Responsibilities:
Build out new features to the main Smartleaf product as well as self-contained modules such as backtesting machinery and data feed handling and sanity check modules Build new interfaces to client and vendor systems Work with clients and vendors to gather requirements and define features and procedures

 Requirements: Demonstrated ability in planning and delivering significant new applications (or at least significant new features in existing applications) Familiarity with advanced Perl OO tools and techniques  Experience in a disciplined development and testing environmentBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related major 5+ years of developer experience Experience working in UNIX environments Ability to work independently.

 

Bonus qualifications:Significant contributions to CPAN Hands-on experience coding financial tech: ASP's, back-testing, or data feeds.
