General Summary

The ISD Civil Product Manager is responsible for helping the civil product team build world class applications for the civil engineering markets and related markets.

You will be involved in product management activities for the entire Civil line of Autodesk products.

This position requires a unique blend of business, marketing, and technical savvy and the ability to promote current products while planning future improvements and new products.

You must be able to listen for issues, gather requirements, identify product needs across a wide range of customers, develop and argue the business case for product investments to better meet those needs, and effectively convey those needs and the business justification to your peers.

You will also have responsibility for bringing these products to market, working with teams responsible for product design, product development, product marketing, and sales execution.

The Product Manager is responsible for the overall success of the products, and must keep abreast of current business while planning and promoting future strategies and directions.

You will need to understand the strengths and benefits of the current product line and products and be skilled at communicating those benefits to Autodesk marketing and sales, as well as partners, customers, and Autodesk management.

You must be an internal and external evangelist for the product line.
The position requires a high level of domain expertise, a talent for business analysis, the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously, an aptitude for evangelism and promotion, and the ability to coordinate these activities with a wide variety of other parties within the company.

You must be able to communicate with peers, partners, and customers in a variety of ways, including meetings, written materials, and presentations.

Core Competencies: Demonstrated success in managing and driving the product development lifecycle. Proven track record in driving and influencing product development strategies. Knowledge of the Autodesk civil product line. Knowledge of the civil markets and related markets. Knowledge of customers and sales channel. Extensive experience conducting, analyzing, and making effective use of market research. Proven success in driving and managing product marketing tasks and activities. Ability to establish thought leadership and influence internal and external teams. Decision making and critical thinking. Ability to establish and maintain interpersonal relationships. Demonstrated success in performing business and financial analysis, and building solid business cases for proposed ideas, strategies, and initiatives. Experience defining marketing strategy and positioning.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required; MBA strongly preferred. 3-5 years work experience in Civil engineering design or construction, or civil design automation. 10-12 years experience in software product management or marketing. A fundamental commitment to user oriented product management. Availability for frequent travel.
