Senior Programmer

Senior Programmer

Social & Scientific Systems, a growing employee-owned, technical and research support firm, has an immediate opening for a Senior Programmer. Under minimal supervision, the person will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing numerous database and statistical applications, primarily in the PC environment. The successful candidate will work directly with clients, manage programming tasks and prepare documentation to accompany deliverables.

Requirements include:

*Bachelors degree, preferably in mathematics, statistics, computer science, quantitative social science, or related field
*Three years working experience in MS/Access applications programming, including proficiency in designing databases, building interfaces, VBA and event-driven programming
*Experience with SQL Server a plus
*Strong analytic skills and experience with data editing
*Ability to work independently and efficiently and to produce high-quality products
*Excellent communication and writing skills
*One or more years of experience with SAS and statistical analysis, including proficiency in using SAS DATA step to perform complex file manipulation a plus
*Experience with one or more large health care databases a plus
