Senior Software Developer/Engineer - Java/Java EE

Baxter is seeking qualified candidates to join our development team as Senior Software Engineers. We are in the process of standardizing on a Java platform that provides interactive maintenance, simulations, and batch processing. Baxter developers have a professional software development environment, including powerful workstations, one-step builds, source code management, automated unit tests, automated integration tests, and an automated build process.

Primary Responsibilities:
Design, develop, test, and document extensions to our enterprise web application. Test, repair, and enhance existing code. Work with other developers to make architecture and design decisions. Review work by other developers. Work with users and domain experts to gather requirements that improve the functionality and usability of our product. Review requirements and provide estimates. Diagnose production issues and provide corrective measures or workarounds.

Required:
Minimum of 3 years experience
B.S., Computer Science or equivalent
Expertise with J2EE
Willingness and ability to become a domain expert
Strong object-oriented analysis and design skills
Experience with agile development practices, continuous integration, short release cycles
Track record developing scalable, high-performance enterprise software applications
Commitment to continuous self-improvement and education
Highly self-motivated, self-starter
Ability to multi-task
Results oriented
Creative problem solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Desired:
Experience with supply chain management
Strong SQL skills, Informix IDS experience
Experience applying domain analysis and design patterns to practical software problems
Expertise with Object-Relational Mapping technologies and frameworks
Expertise with JavaScript, CSS, DHTML, and Ajax
Expertise in designing and implementing high performance batch processes
Experience with JSPs and custom tag libraries
Experience with web frameworks (Struts, Tapestry, JSF)
Knowledge of quantitative analysis, discrete math, optimization algorithms
Experience with OLAP, Data Mining, Business Intelligence, Data Warehouse design
