Senior Software Development Engineer

We currently have an excellent career opportunity available for a Senior Software Engineer with Web GUI expertise to join our Strong Authentication department located in our Bedford office.

Primary responsibilities:

o Design, implement, integrate and test java software with a heavy emphasis on J2EE, Struts, Tiles, and Javascript.

o Assist in the design, test, performance tuning, and implementation of a J2EE web GUI.

o Receive minimal amount of technical direction upon the assignment of a task, project, or program. Work with a high level of independence to identify, evaluate, and resolve complex technical problems, and establish the technical approach to their solution.

o Consult with or take direction from other engineers to devise new or improved techniques for solving problems as required.

o Participate in design and code reviews.

o Integrate code from open source developers or outside suppliers.

o Create, adapt, and extend unit tests.

o Describe functional requirements with use cases and capture designs in UML or similar modeling language.

o Analyze requirements, identify tasks, provide estimates and execute to meet the scheduled targets.

o Document the requirements and design using good written communication skills.

o Coordinate with QA, release and documentation teams using good oral communication skills.

Qualifications:
o Solid Java/J2EE skills are required, preferably working in a Weblogic server-based environment.
o In-depth programmatic knowledge of Struts, Tiles, Javascript, Servlets, custom tag libraries, XML, and JUnit is required.
o Knowledge of other J2EE technologies like AJAX, JMS and LOG4J is highly desired.
o Must be familiar with Microsoft Windows, and Linux/Unix as development platforms.
o Experience with directories (Active Directoy and/or Sun Java Directory) is highly desired.
o Must be a self-starter, team-player, and demonstrate flexibility in accepting work assignments and challenges.
