Senior Software Development Engineer - Content Platform

The Content Management team is looking for a senior software engineer/architect that can solve new and difficult problems, and then deliver a robust, highly scalable solution in timely manner.

The Content Management team is responsible for the services and applications used to schedule and deliver merchandised content to the Amazon.com driven websites. This involves large amounts of data, real-time and batch processing and strict latency requirements.

Almost every product line within Amazon relies in some part on the platform we provide. Many users interact with our software on a daily basis to adjust content scheduling, or retrieve data that drive important business decisions. All external customers of Amazon.com use our functionality to view the website.

Our current project roadmap includes consolidating two content management services and databases into one, developing and exposing new merchandising functionality to our enterprise merchants and redesigning the base content delivery service/application for improved performance needed to support Amazon in the years to come.

Engineers on the Content Management team work with C++, Java and Perl on Linux.



The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to deliver quality software on time. Initiative, teamwork, and communication skills are a must. Mastery of C++, Java or Perl is required. Extra attention will be given to candidates with experience designing/developing in a high volume service oriented architecture. Platform/API experience is also a plus. MS in CS or equivalent is desired.
