Senior Software Engineer (Architect)

Job Description: BearingPoint’s Defense practice seeks a Senior Software Engineer to support a sustainment effort for a large DoD web-based eCommerce system. This individual will develop and maintain software as directed by the customer. He/She will be responsible for the overall system requirements from a technical perspective. This individual will act as the primary software solutions architect for the system, in conjunction with the Project Manager. Responsible for viewing and analyzing system logs to troubleshoot performance issues.

Responsibilities:
The Senior SW Engineer will assist the e-commerce system PM with the following:
· Define overall system requirements for the system
· Provide technical direction to team members
· Maintain and enforce architectural guidelines, best practices and standards
· Remain abreast of new products, technologies and industry trends
· Forecast and plan capacity requirements and future growth needs of specified applications
· Understand technical infrastructure and recommend solutions consistent with the environment, technical knowledge, resources, availability requirements, etc.
· Plan, design, document and work to implement system configuration
· Supply cost estimates to project and engagement management, including capital and labor costs
· Recommend and plan for backup/recovery and disaster recovery consistent with business’ needs, budget, risk aversion, etc.
· Analyze overall system architecture risks and mitigation methods
· Identify technical project priorities and implementation schedules
· Support, track and document change implementation
· Contribute to the development of deployment plan and methods
· Participate in delivery assurance
· Deliver Risk Mitigation Plan
· Repair Hot Line (Emergency) notices within 24 hours
· Coordinate with interfacing systems
· Coordinate change with other system developers and PM

Requirements:
· 5+ years of experience in some combination of software development, specifically software architecture experience
· Expertise with Linux environment
· Expertise with JAVA/J2EE/Design Patterns/Web Based software development, WebLogic
· Expertise with WebMethods
· Experience with Business Intelligence applications (BusinessObjects is a plus)
· Undergraduate degree in computer science, information systems, or computer engineering
· U.S. Citizenship
