Senior Software Engineer, Developer Tools Team (Java)

BEA's Interaction Division is looking for a technical lead / senior software engineer to join our Developer Tools team. This team is responsible for tools and features used by advanced developers worldwide to deliver portal solutions that scale to millions of end-users. This position will expose you to advanced IDE integration with Eclipse, and you'll work with the cutting edge in SOA technology with a market leader that's growing rapidly. Our customers include all of the Fortune 500. This is a highly technical position that requires an individual with solid skills in object-oriented programming.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- 4+ years software development experience shipping commercial software
- Excellent knowledge of Java 1.5, including java.nio, threads, reflection, annotations, and generics
- Excellent knowledge of J2EE 1.4, including filters, security constraints, JAAS, JDBC
- Solid knowledge of SQL and persistence layers (Oracle, SQL server)
- Strong HTML and JavaScript knowledge, especially XmlHttpRequest error handling
- Prior experience shipping commercial applications, ideally in the enterprise space
- An agile mind and an ability to communicate concepts clearly
- Strong object-oriented software design skills combined with knowledge of design patterns
- A Bachelors' degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related discipline

Major Pluses:
- Prior experience coding or bugfixing commercial enterprise software
- Experience developing tools for developers, especially with IDE integration
- Worked at a recognized software company (Oracle, Sun, Network Associates, Microsoft, Adobe)
- Unix experience, especially Linux
- Experience with JSF, Spring, Facelets

- A Bachelors' degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related discipline
