Senior Software Engineer: Media Client

We are a new digital entertainment venture providing a broadband download service delivering premium movies and thematic artist-created channels to consumers.  We are seeking a talented, creative and hard-working Senior Software Engineer to assist in the introduction of a new film and branded channel consumer service.  The engineer will be focused on building software to be installed on our customers' systems to provide a high-quality, media-oriented experience.

 

Responsibilities:

? Design, develop and maintain client-side media-related components

? Integrate with media players, media libraries and digital rights management systems

? Integrate with back-end systems via published APIs and web services

? Integrate file transfer protocols and management tools into client

? Integrate Intel's Viiv functionality into client

? Identify new and existing technologies that can be used to enhance applications and development processes

? Create and maintain appropriate technical documentation

 

Requirements:

? 5+ years practical experience in software development of commercial-grade applications using C/C++ and C#

? Experience developing with Windows Media Player, DRM and related media applications

? Experience with Internet development, network protocols and security

? Background in Microsoft Windows development

? Good understanding of COM, DCOM, ActiveX, DirectX

? Good understanding of UPnP

? Good understanding of SOAP, XML, XHTML, AJAX, JavaScript

? Experience building multi-threaded applications

? Experience in software lifecycles, software configuration management and change control

? Experience working with Windows XP Media Center Edition a plus

? Experience with software installation and update tools a plus

? Ability to identify, prioritize and execute tasks to meet critical project deadlines

? Proven ability to deliver results

? Excellent written and oral communication skills
