Senior Software Engineer--Middleware & I/O

Position?Description:

?

The Software Center of Excellence, Middleware and I/O organization within Honeywell's Aerospace business unit has an immediate need for a senior software engineering professional to drive and support the requirements, design and development tasks

for the Image Processing Module, a core Honeywell product.? The IPM is a VME board with a PowerPC processor which is capable of rendering graphics to at least two outputs and merging video.

?

This?position will support the development of the Device Driver Software.? Knowledge of VxWorks and Integrity Operating System? toolsets is necessary.??The IPM is used in a variety of configurations in multiple programs.? The candidate will need to support multiple programs that use the IPM or variations of its architecture.? The candidate will need to support the D0178B activities necessary for FAA certifiability.? Responsibilities will include software design, code, test, and integration.? Activities will include identifying software issues, analyzing performance and developing next generation requirements.? The candidate will need to support software metric capture, analysis and reporting activities.

Basic Qualifications:

-Candidate must?have a Bachelors Degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering,?Computer Science, or related

-Candidate must have 6+ years experience programming C

-Candidate must have 3+ years of full life cycle embedded software development experience

-Candidate must have previous experience using VxWorks and/or Integrity operating systems

-Candidate must have previous experience with OpenGL

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with Clear Case / Clear Quest Highly desirable

-Excellent communication skills

-Familiarity with DO-178B certification process

-Previous experience with JTAG emulators and BUS analyzers

-A strong background integrating/developing with new hardware

-Familiarity with PowerPC, VME PCI

-Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
