About the Sr. Software Engineer Opportunity
As a Senior Software Engineer you will be an integral part of Infospace?s V4 Platform team. You will be challenged to develop, enhance, maintain, and support Infospace?s branded sites and production systems. Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPartner with Product and Program management to achieve business goals.
Implement features that address business needs and best utilize existing components.
Coordinate planning, review and execution of technical designs.
Provide project estimations and LOE with Program Manager.
Maintain, enhance, and support revenue generation production sites.
Maintain existing production code bases.
Foster collaborative development activities that allow interoperability of heterogeneous software components.
Partner with Development managers and Leads to achieve department wide goals.
Create and maintain technical specifications and documents.
Perform production support, bug fixing, and troubleshooting.
Write code base on existing coding standards or industry standards with test-driven development (TDD) mentality.
Participate in code reviews.
Required Skills, Education & ExperienceBS or MS in Computer Science or related engineering field.
5+ years in software development.
Experience must include hands-on software development, design methodologies and design tools, object oriented principles, and direct experience with functional, operational and technical architectures of large scale systems.
Must be able to develop consistently with product requirements and customer considerations.
Ability to derive and evaluate software specifications for large, complex software systems.
Ability to coordinate design of subsystems and integration of system components.
Proficiency in Java J2EE Architecture, XML, Web Services, Struts (EJB not necessary), AJAX, Spring, Hibernate, version control, JSP, and Ant.
Experience with database related development (SQL, JDBC, JDO).
Testing and performance tuning to support high-load transaction services.
Experience with design and development of Content Management Systems.
Experience with the following technologies is a plus: WAP, SMS, MMS, WAP Push, J2ME.
Ability to work as part of a team or to work alone.
