Senior Software QA Engineer

 

Location: Burlington, MA.

 

Position Summary:

As a Senior Software QA Engineer, you will lead efforts to plan, develop and run application test suites to exercise the full range of Exa's products. These products form a world class, pioneering suite of applications focused on fluid dynamics simulation, advanced visualization of simulation results, and unique CAD/geometry tools designed to facilitate rapid studies of aerodynamic design alternatives. This will be a cross functional role with great growth potential.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

 1. Communicate with Product Planning and Sales & Services groups to

  establish customer use requirements for new development projects.

  Establish testing requirements for new and existing software

  features.

 

 2. Work closely with Development and Product Planning groups to

  plan, schedule, create and run test suites for Exa's

  applications.

 

 3. Investigate problems and assist Development teams in testing

  fixes.

 

 4. Assist and train new QA staff.

 

 5. Document QA activities for communication with Development, Product

  Planning and Management teams.

 

 

Experience/Education:

 

 - 3-5 years of technical experience with software development or QA

in UNIX/Linux and Windows environments.

 

 - BS degree in Computer Science, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering,

or related Engineering degree.

 

 

Must-have skills:

 

 - Hands on experience with developing, maintaining or testing complex

applications.

 

 - Must be detail-oriented with demonstrated analysis and

follow-through skills.

 

 - Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

 - Must be a self-starter who works equally well independently and in

a team environment.

 

 - Some programming experience with C/C++ or Python is required.

 

 - Knowledge of CAD or scientific software is a strong plus.

 

 

Optional/preferred skills:

 

  - Python

  - CAE experience

  - Aeronautics or Mechanical Engineering familiarity

  - Network or System Administration
