Senior Software Test Engineer (135419-567)

Keynote's worldwide network of software agents continuously measures Web site quality of service, enabling customers to measure and diagnose performance and availability. We are seeking an exceptional, highly motivated test engineer with significant experience testing high-throughput data acquisition applications as well as Web-based applications. These applications control and process the data flow from Keynote's worldwide-distributed fabric of thousands of measurement agents, and assist customers with monitoring, visualization and interpretation of data. In this position you will lead the QA and testing of a complex multi-site multi-database 24x7 system and work closely with Keynote?s world class Software Engineering, Technical Services and Operations groups. Solaris, Linux, C++, and Oracle are the primary platforms that this system is built on.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 Writing and executing test plans, cases, suites and scripts, ensuring conformance with testing standards. Applying thorough understanding of test coverage and test metrics to accurately assess the level of quality of each software release. Participating in technical requirements, design, code reviews, and leading test plan reviews. Capturing and maintaining test results in prescribed format and preparing test reports. Analyzing test results to validate and verify functionality, usability, performance, data correctness and consistency. Identifying non-conformances, reporting bugs, and recommending corrective action. Leading test efforts on projects ensuring all areas of the software are thoroughly tested. Assisting in defining and continually improving the software QA processes. Assisting in developing, implementing, and maintaining QA systems, procedures, projects, and test methodology. Aiding in the set up of test infrastructure and facilities, including automation and regression test beds. Automation of regression tests using scripting languages, utilities, open source test tools, and commercial test tools such as Segue SilkTest.



Required Skills:

 A minimum of eight years of QA and Testing experience, with significant experience testing high-throughput data acquisition applications as well as Web-based applications within a fast-paced, rapidly changing, and team-oriented high technology environment. Extensive experience in designing test suites for complex features based on product specifications. Extensive black box and glass/white box testing experience required. Expert knowledge of testing methodology (e.g., testing models, validation techniques, efficient test case development, etc.) Programming experience using languages such as C, C++, Java is a plus Experience with Internet APIs and protocols including TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL, DNS Scripting experience using Unix Shell, JavaScript, Perl Extensive knowledge of test automation tools such as Segue SilkTest Ability to clearly and concisely document product defects using commercial bug tracking systems. Experience with Web technologies such as HTML, DHTML, SOAP, XML, XSLT, Flash, AJAX Experience with wireless technologies such as GSM, GPRS, CDMA, EVDO, UMTS, 802.11.x, WAP, WML, SMS, MMS is a strong plus Experience with Visual Studio and MS Visual Sourcesafe. Experience with Windows, Linux and Sun Solaris operating systems. Experience with Apache, Tomcat, and IIS web servers. Experience with application servers such as JBOSS Experience with Oracle database and SQL. Knowledge of SQL Server and MySQL a plus. Strong problem solving and debugging skills. Excellent analytical, organizational, self-management and leadership skills. Excellent oral and written communication and teaming skills. BS in Computer Science / related discipline or equivalent experience.
