Responsibilities
Responsible for responding to production issues as well as maintaining and installing new Solaris and Linux servers. Specifically the Network Operations Manager will:

- Respond to hardware and software issues, including opening tickets with vendor support personnel
- Maintain security patches on Solaris and Linux servers
- Assist in design and installation of new server architecture
- Maintain and create administrative scripts
- Ensure Win32/Unix compatibility using open source tools

Qualifications
Requires:
- BS in Engineering or Scientific field (or equivalent)
- 5+ years in Solaris/Linux Administration in a production environment
- Windows 2000/Unix integration skills
- Advanced Perl and Bash scripting skills
- Extensive experience with open source tools (samba, qmail, courier-imap, apache, jboss, openldap, mit-kerberos and mysql)
- Excellent communication, problem solving and judgment skills
- Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment

A Plus:
- Experience with Sun hardware
- Experience with RDBS and SQL; Sybase ASE in particular
- Experience with open source administration toolkits

The preferred level of education for this position is Bachelor's Level Degree.
The preferred years of experience for this position is 5 years.
