Senior Technical Marketing Engineer

Job Description:

This position, which reports directly to the SVP of Product Management and Solution, will be responsible for technical presentations, field sales and customer training, technical documentation, competitive analysis and technical market segment analysis of Trendium NetTraffic and PerforMAX products. This individual will be involved in the introduction, product evangelism, market exploitation, and assisting Trendium OEM partners and channels sales organizations to assist in maximizing penetration of market segment. Leverages, and if necessary, develops and delivers technical product information that enhances OEM partners and channels field sales and support.

 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Serves as a technical interface between Corporate Product Management  and the Trendium OEM partners and channels field SE's and sales representatives. Extremely skilled networking individual with significant experience and extensive enterprise solutions knowledge is critical. Provides supplemental technical expertise to the Field in planning, installing, and supporting Trendium NetTraffic and PerforMAX products. Broad knowledge of enterprise networks, data centers, network traffic analysis, Cisco Netflow and IPSLA products as well as servers, switches, applications and topology a must.May become the technical focal point within Trendium Product Management and Marketing organization for assigned high-profile customer technical pre-sales issues relating to Trendium NetTraffic and PerforMAX products.Provides a source for reliable technical information and advice on the products. Must be able to define in detail features and functions required for current or new product releases.Participates in new product releases development with the goal of improving the products by injecting a Customer/User/Field perspective into the process. Collecting the input from the sales field for new features and ensuring these features are implemented successfully Provides these input to Engineering on the functionality/quality/usability/supportability of the products. Working in the lab with Trendium partners for product tear downs, feature comparisons, bench marking and demonstration set up development. This will lead to detailed competitive analysis and positioning for sales as well as providing feedback to product management and engineering.Responsible for the planning, development, and delivery of technical Pre Sales training on Trendium NetTraffic and PerforMAX products as well as the OEMed products.. Provides technical support to Trendium OEM partners and channels in developing and implementing marketing programs (e.g.: collateral, events, shows, etc.) Must be willing to travel and can communicate with various levels of customers from CIO to the most experienced System Administrator. Leading enterprise networks and systems technical experience/skills a must to perform this function. Participates in customer meetings, conferences, etc? where there is a requirement for technical depth. Must be able to create and deliver highly technical presentations to customers and internal personnel. May present at conferences and seminars. This person should be capable of speaking at User Group events, industry events, etc? This again requires very deep technical knowledge of IP networks, traffic analysis, performance management systems, enterprise applications, and operating systems. Interfaces with executive management as well as management at all department levels.Creation of outbound materials by liaising with the rest of the product management team as well as engineering to produce product guides, white papers, implementation guides, reviewers guides and competitive papers.

 

Education and Experience: BSCS, BSEE, or equivalent experience; MSCS/MSEE desirable. Broad, overall systems knowledge with significant enterprise technical depth in: LAN and WAN networks, data centers, traffic analysis and performance management systems, Cisco Netflow and IPSLA products as well as servers, switches, applications and topology.Expert with both hardware and software related products. Network architect and design experience is an advantageMust have strong technical program management and coordination experience. Experience in performance benchmarking assessment, planning, and execution. Experience in generating and various technical documents and reports. Knowledge of Web based information publishing techniques and tools (eg:HTML, Java.) Needs solid Knowledge of Windows UNIX, Linux, NT/2000/XP, File Systems, interfaces, and administration tools. Must have the ability to analyze and troubleshoot all levels of a system.

Must be able to quickly generate detailed specifications for complex requirements based on customer or market needs.Demonstrated ability to lead activities among several different departments. Manage multiple priorities efficiently and effectively. Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze, and manipulate data for effective technical presentations and reports. Proven ability to conduct customer presentations, present at conferences, and seminars.Requires Travel. Requires excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.Citizenship or permanent residency required
