Sofrware Engineer - Java J2EE

For over 50 years, the BBN name has been synonymous with technological innovation. Since implementing and operating the ARPANET, the forerunner of today's Internet, we have been responsible for a number of networking firsts: the first packet switch, the first router, and the first person-to-person network email. We also designed, built and operated the Defense Data Network. Today at BBN, some of the same scientists involved in those projects are working with the brilliant young graduates of the country's top technical schools to pioneer new innovations.

BBN Technologies is currently looking for highly qualified Software Engineers who will perform funded research and development activities across a broad spectrum of application, database, network and system technologies. They will contribute to one or more projects, sponsored by the Department of Defense, the Federal Government and various commercial organizations. Successful candidates will be goal oriented and have a desire to develop the skills necessary over the next few years to acquire new business opportunities for the department by writing proposals and making presentations to prospective customers.

*Active TOP SECRET+ security clearance required.

BS in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related degree program. MS preferred.

- Experience programming in JAVA, J2EE, C++, Perl required.
- Demonstrated skills in technical writing and publications.
- Strong oral communications skills.
- Coursework in areas of computer and network security.
- 1-5 years work experience.
