Software Applications Architect

This Position requires the ability to gain and retain a Secret Clearance.

 

Architect will design and guide development team in delivery of high quality enterprise software systems using industry best practices for software development.  Excellent communication skills are required to develop the system requirements with the stakeholders, communicate designs to the development team, mentor junior team members, and communicate effectively with project management.  Strong analytical skills and a business focus are essential. Candidate must be results driven, and have demonstrated the ability to act as the technical driving force to see a system to completion. 

 

Requirements:

? 10+ years combined experience building and designing OO distributed systems using J2EE, Web Services, and one or more of the following: CORBA, DCOM, MOM
? 3+ years experience leading the architecture, design, and implementation of J2EE enterprise web applications using J2EE (EJB, Servlets, and JSP)
? Strong understanding of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) patterns and concepts
? 2+ years experience using the RUP methodology for software development
? Demonstrated expertise modeling systems with UML
? Demonstrated expertise with enterprise and application design patterns
? Experience with Rational tools to support RUP
? Experience with relational to object mapping technologies (e.g. Entity EJB, Toplink)
? Experience with large enterprise systems and the architectural issues involved in the support of large data volume, scalability, security, and availability 
? Experience with key cross-system boundary issues such as exception handling, transactional issues, distributed data cache, and data transfer between distributed systems and components
? Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field

 

Special Skills:

? Experience developing systems using Oracle 10g J2EE Application Server
? Experience with Oracle TopLink relational to object mapping tool
? Experience developing systems for the DoD
? Secret Security Clearance
