Responsible for:

Tier 2 end user support of StarTeam on the UNIX platform
updating of SCM intranet web pages
running and troubleshooting builds on four platforms (AIX, HP-UX, Linux and Windows)
packaging and delivery of build products
creation of build environments
media creation
tracking third-party packages (COTS and open source)
performing backups of build products
grooming and maintenance of SCM-allocated disk partitions
generating and updating build process documentation
reporting monthly measures of build activity for CMM compliance

This engineer will also participate in the development, debuging, administration and maintenance of build- and reporting-related tools in addition to nightly and other automated build tools and processes using UNIX shell and Windows batch file scripting. Patch and hotfix packaging will also be part of this engineer's role. Java development experience would be a plus, but not required. Willingness and ability to learn new tools is an important part of the position.

May interface with users and relevant Development and Quality Assurance stakeholders to ensure the timely compilation, packaging and delivery of software products.

Scope:

Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

Experience:

- 3+ years of SCM/build experience in a mixed-platform (UNIX/Windows) and mixed-language (Java/C/C++) development environment

Desired Skills:

- strong command-line skills with System V UNIX and Linux, specifically with the Korn shell and scripting
- user-level familiarity with ClearCase (knowledge of some administrative functions a plus)
- admin-level familiarity with StarTeam
- Apache ANT, makefile and Windows batch file syntax
- excellent interpersonal skills
