Software Development Engineer, Developer Tools

The Developer Tools SPECTRE team produces innovative software engineering tools leveraging open-source and emerging technologies to provide an awesome development experience at Amazon.com.

We are currently focused on developing a toolset to allow software teams to work autonomously, offline and from geographically diverse locations without sacrificing software reuse and flexibility.

As such, we are looking for enthusiastic and customer-focused software development engineers who have a strong bias towards building lightweight, portable, and powerful tools to accelerate the development process.

Candidates for this position must be passionate Java or C++ developers with an undergraduate or graduate degree in computer science (or equivalent experience). SPECTRE works with the most advanced software teams across the organization, so outstanding verbal and written communication skills are a must. All of our products follow a community-driven open development style, so Open Source experience (or a desire for such) is an advantage.
