Software Developer Engineer, Discovery Platform

Amazon.com’s Browse team is hiring a talented and enthusiastic Software Engineer to develop and deliver a new suite of features in our high transaction real-time data propagation pipeline. This team is working on problems related to driving a better customer experience within Browse by improving and augmenting the methods by which merchants can assign their products to a Browse structure. Candidates must be experienced, innovative, creative, flexible and self-motivated, with the ability to design and write high-performance, reliable, and maintainable code.



Candidates must also have a strong computer science background: a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science is required along with a minimum of 3-5+ years of work experience. Candidates should be experienced in C/C++, Object Oriented Design, SQL, OOP, shell scripting and Perl (recommended), and be familiar with application programming under UNIX/Linux. Solid communication skills and ability to work well in a team are critical. Experience with large data driven applications and/or distributed computing is highly desired.
