Position: Software Developer - Strobe for WAS

Responsibilities:

* Responsible for the design and implementation phase of the product life cycle for developing new software and enhancements to our product offering STROBE.
* Analyzes and interprets requirements, at varying levels of definition, and proposes functional changes to the product.
* Assist in prioritizing possible release content to establish a Product Release Plan.
* Create high and low level technical specifications, clearly defining the programming effort required for new and changed programs and interfaces to existing products.
* Estimate, plan and complete implementation within time estimates
* Interact with quality assurance to ensure adequate testing is being done; assist technical writer in developing technical documentation and review manuals.
* Perform problem determination for production release on the most complex problems, create or review product fixes/PTFs and source code changes to effect solutions.

Requirements:

* J2EE and Java development skills.
* In depth experience in the MVS environment as a product development software engineer.
* Sound understanding of the z/OS and MVS architecture and services.
* Extensive experience with IBM's Websphere Application Server product.
* Good Assembler programming skills.
* Proven ability to analyze and resolve complex technical problems.
* Basic Web Developer skills.
* Familiarity with the WAS internal Architecture.
* Experience in the installation and configuration of WAS environments.
* Understanding of potential performance impacts to WAS operations and remedies.
