Software Development Engineer - Digital Media Technologies

The Search Inside the Book(TM) team is looking for an experienced software development engineer to take on a technical leadership position to architect our next generation solutions. We are evolving the idea that revolutionized the business by bringing books into the digital world.

 

You will work with cutting edge technologies and create solutions that are used by millions of people everyday. You will design end-to-end applications applying the latest technologies to create innovative solutions. Expect to be challenged to implement anything from AJAX clients to scalable services and external APIs.

 

We are seeking an optimistic problem solver, who is not afraid of risk, and who is right - a lot.



o Strong background in C/C++, Java and working knowledge of one or more scripting languages like Ruby or PERL
o Expertise in distributed application architectures
o Experience building highly scalable web applications, AJAX experience is a plus
o XML processing and related technologies
o Relational db design and SQL skills
o Development in a Unix environment
o Solid communication skills

 

A Bachelor's or higher advanced degree in Computer Science or a relevant equivalent is required.
