As a Software Development Engineer in Test you'll take on the toughest problems in software testing, using the latest in open-source technologies, in a high-velocity agile environment.

As a developer in test, you're also familiar with the tension between software quality and shipping product on a tight schedule. As a Software Development Engineer in Test you'll take on the toughest problems in software testing: system-wide test automation, performance/load testing, and white-box testing for a sophisticated multi-tier architecture. We use Ruby and other open-source technologies in the rapid development of automation and test tools. You'll work with software developers, test engineers, program managers and product specialists in a high-velocity agile environment, with the freedom to choose technical solutions that are the right fit for the problem at hand. We thrive on innovative approaches to software testing and QA, in support of product development at the speed of web 2.0.

This is a web service with platforms for both consumer and enterprise users. For job seekers we build and host tools for users to learn about companies, network, and get noticed through referrals, including a search engine serving over 2M searches per month, and indexing jobs from thousands of employers.
For employers, this is a service to target, engage and hire the best-match people, through employee referrals, email marketing, and website and blog targeting. Over 200 companies on annual contracts have validated Jobster?s effectiveness. With a growing customer base we're expanding into targeted web and blog ad distribution networks, eCommerce, data mining, building and applying referral networks, and people search.

Responsibilities:

Design and develop automation for functional, performance, load and stress testing.
Develop and apply white-box test strategies.
Collaborate with software developers and architects on test tool development, performance optimization, debugging and problem isolation.
Design, implement and maintain test plans and test specifications.
Requirements:

5+ years experience in development or QA/testing for web-based applications. Experience in hosted web services and MVC architectures desirable.
3+ years experience in programming or scripting languages: Java, JavaScript, Ruby, Perl, Python, C++/C#.
Experience in Oracle 10g, MySQL or MS SQL.
Experience in structured performance/load testing and analysis a plus.
Experience/familiarity with open-source platforms and technologies: J2EE, Ruby on Rails, Hibernate, Apache Tomcat, internet networking and web technologies.
Solid technical foundation and experience in Linux/Unix
