Software Development Process Analyst / Systems Analyst

 

The Software Development Services team is responsible for the United Development Process (UDP) and the Application Development Repository (ADR) tool for a 2000 + person software development organization. UDP is the application development process followed by all application development teams for IT projects, work orders and break-fix changes.  ADR is a document repository tool that is structured to house and manage the approvals of the evidence produced throughout the application development lifecycle.

 

As part of this small team, you will be responsible for a broad range of initiatives, with elements of systems/process analysis, education, coaching and process improvement. Other activities will include participation in testing, release management and operations management. Specific responsibilities are outlined below:

 

? Determining how process can be used to control and drive quality within software development

? Conducting analysis of processes and tools for change/enhancement requirements

? Collaborating with software development teams

? Designing and documenting Software Development Lifecycle process &  procedures

? Creating and documenting systems requirements from business requirements

? Indirectly leading application development teams re: standard development processes and tool usage guidelines

? Making recommendations for process and tool improvement

? Participating in process and system testing execution

? Release planning, tracking and reporting

? Mentoring people on the UDP methodology and on ADR usage

? Performing problem analysis and resolution activities as needed

? Promoting importance of SOX compliance

 



Candidates will possess:
Excellent active listening skills
Experience with SEI CMM or similar software development process
Demonstrated ability to understand root causes
Proven problem solving skills and analytic capability
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Prior experience coaching, educating and/or mentoring (ideally software development professionals)
5 + years of experience in a software development organization  
Project Management skills 
Strong business partner focus
Demonstrated leadership skills
Demonstrated ability to drive change within an organization
Ability to stay committed to long-term project goals
Ability to balance multiple high priority tasks
Exposure to multiple system development processes desired
Relevant Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
