Software Engineer (ASP.NET, DB2, Cobol, TSO)   NEW CUMBERLAND, PA

 

Kforce Government Solutions is searching for a number of experienced Software Engineer (Applications).  Candidates must be a US citizen and be able to obtain a Secret Clearance.

 

The candidate will be able to:Perform moderately complex analysis, design, development, testing and debugging of computer software. Activities range from operating system architecture integration and software design to recommendation of products. Develop system level scripts in various common languages (e.g.,ASP.NET, SQL, COBOL,  APS, QMF, DB2, CICS and JCL).Provide functional analysis related to the design, development and implementation of application software. Translates customer requirements into computer software.  Resolve complex application software problems involving Operating Systems, Databases, and Network and application software.  Establish test environments to validate application software changes and execute all testing to ensure program and data integrity before release to the production environment.Consult with users to identify and analyze complex computer support needs. Provide technical support for the system architecture, development environment, functionality, performance, and infrastructure of the Distribution Standard System.  Provide training to application programmers/analysts.  Develop and prepare expert briefings and documents related to technical specifications, training materials, operation and system user manuals; analysis papers; and other system related information.  Provide subject matter expertise to support applications related contract Develop concepts and tools for problem prevention and avoidance for increased efficiency. Provide consultation advice, expert analysis, and recommendations on client software migration and upgrade.Will have in depth knowledge of Mainframe System Technical or Functional Operations Cross-functional knowledge of Supply Chain end-to-end with emphasis in DOD wholesale and retail distributionWrite technical specifications, system architectural change documents, standard operating procedures, and training manuals.
