Software Engineer, Bluetooth

Overview:

 

The Bluetooth Software Engineer is a key member of Palm?s Bluetooth Engineering team. The team is responsible for all phases of Bluetooth development on Palm handheld and smartphone products including design, development, and engineering test/certification. The Bluetooth Engineer's role within this team will be to specifically focus on the Bluetooth application level, which provides integration between the upper Bluetooth layer protocols and the host.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

 

?  Design and implement application level management functionality for upper layer protocols such as SPP, DUN, FTP, A2DP, HFP, HSP, and PAN within various handheld and smartphone products

?  Should also be comfortable with the inner workings of the Bluetooth stack and be able to debug issues as they arise with the internal stack

?  Work on multiple products, though not normally at the same time, and have full responsibility for the Bluetooth application layer within a given device

 

Qualifications:

 

?  5-10 years of experience

 

Skills/Experience:

 

?  WinCE / embedded Linux experience

?  Experience in C/C++ programming

?  Strong debugging skills

?  Experience developing with the Bluetooth Protocol Stack

?  Hands-on approach to software development

 

Education:

 

?  B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent degree

 

Travel:

 

?  Occasional travel will be required
