Software Engineer/CM

Software Engineer/Configuration Manager needed to support the sustainment, maintenance and new development on a J2EE web.

This position contingent based on contract award anticipated on/or around September 1, 2006



Job Description:

Responsibilities will include Software Configuration Management (SCM) tasking to include the use of SCM tools. Tasks include configuration identification, configuration control, configuration status accounting, configuration verification and audits, product release and delivery, and preparing and executing software compile builds using automated ANT scripts for deployment. Identify problems and provide solutions to a variety of SCM technical problems.

Everyday responsibilities range from developing scripts to supporting software build cycles, providing configuration control support to development team and developing, improving and training on the SCM processes. Ability to develop and maintain SCM tools using such languages as: Java. Awareness of ISO or CMMI CM standards.
Will also communicate SCM status to technical leads and program management.


Required Skills:

? 4-6 years experience in Object Oriented Design, Java, J2EE, WebLogic 8.1, 9.0 working with medium to large scale high availability critical systems.

? Experience using Microsoft 2000 Word and Excel.

? 2 years experience with software configuration management with the ability to perform Build management (compiling, linking), Release management (capturing and installing software baselines), and develop and provide SCM training presentations.

? Knowledge of Web Logic deployment and UNIX shell commands.

? Working knowledge and experience with Oracle 10g .

? 3-4 years experience with Unix/Linux.

? Ability to Create, deploy WAR and EAR files, using ANT, to BEA WLS application server.

? US Citizenship required and eligible for SSBI clearance.

Desired Skills:

? Knowledge of CVS (version control system) .

? Demonstrate excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and be able to work independently in a complex environment with occasional customer interaction.

? Experience working independently with minimal supervision and within a team environment a strong plus.



? BS degree (or equivalent experience) in Information Systems, Computer Science or related discipline.
